How it works
This tool runs entirely in your browser — your photos never go to a server. Add your images, enter the size you need in KB, and hit "Compress Now". The tool shrinks each file to hit your target. You can download images one by one, or use "Save all" to grab them together.
Compress to an exact size
Just set the target — say 50KB — and the tool automatically adjusts quality (and resizes the image if needed) to land at or under it. This is ideal for form and application uploads where the photo or signature has a strict size limit, like 20KB, 50KB, or 100KB.
About image formats
This tool keeps each picture in the same format you upload — a JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG. Here's a quick guide to what each format is best for.
JPG
The most common choice for photos. Good quality at a small size, and easy to compress to an exact KB target. Does not support transparency.
WebP
Modern format with the best compression — roughly 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality, and it keeps transparency.
PNG
Best for logos, icons, screenshots and transparent images. It's lossless, so to hit a small size the image is scaled down rather than quality-reduced.
GIF
Supported as a still image (the first frame). For animation, keep your original GIF.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. All processing happens inside your device using JavaScript. No file is sent over the internet — that's why it's fully private and fast.
How do I compress a photo to 50KB or 20KB?
Switch to "By size (KB)" mode, type your target KB or tap a preset (20/50/100 KB), then hit Compress. The tool raises or lowers quality to land near that size. For very small targets, the image may look a little softer.
Does compression ruin the quality?
Light compression is barely noticeable. A quality around 80 is a great balance for most images. You can fine-tune each image with the slider before downloading.
How many photos can I compress at once?
No limit. Add as many as you like — just note that very large files may take a moment on older phones.
Does the animation in a GIF stay?
In this version only the first frame of a GIF is compressed (a static image). Support for animated files is coming.
